One of my favourite novels is the quirky The Insatiable Moon by NZ author Mike Riddell. I loved his writing and appearances at Greenbelt years ago. So I was excited to hear at last summer's Greenbelt that the film version of it has finally been made after a decade of trying. There I heard the remarkable story from its producers, and saw the first outing of its trailer. Perhaps unsurprisingly it's been getting rave reviews from its first audiences in NZ, but it's also been getting excellent notices from international film festivals, with its off-beat, but uplifting and redeeming story.
It's being released in London in less than 2 weeks, so I hope it won't be too long before it gets much wider release. When you hear of it coming locally, don't hesitate but go and see it.
